On a tangent- Makes me think marketers often spend time deliberating about strategy, trend, analytics, PR content, advertising storyboard, objectives and many such distractions, while innovators actually make the products that provide service which create demand and finally ship. What matters is the strategy that goes in making a product. What matters is analytics which gives information on user behavior so that the products can be made better.
The rest is mostly garnishing. Good to have but not necessary.
