Dethroning Facebook and Twitter

The company is called Leping Li and they have created a free app called Color Text Messages which allows you to create designs and send colorful messages from your iPhone. Imagine sending a message in satin lilac inside a butterfly designed speech bubble? 

Yes and by doing that they are now the top free app on iTunes, dethroning Facebook and Twitter.

What do you get when you mash Instagram with the weather channel ?

You get Weathermob. A nifty little iPhone app. One that allows you to post pictures of the weather of the city you are living in and thereby curates weather updates live across the world. Another example of the force shifting. Of the Lynchpins at play. No disrespect, but I will take a human being’s live update of the weather of a place where s/he lives, than a satellite’s geo map version of partly sunny, little cloudy with  saturation of 39% weather forecast.

Nice. Whether this app makes it or not, fundamentally the power is shifting from the media controlled weather channel to the user.

Well so many such small business owners liked this product that soon Square was processing  $4 billion in payments.

Now they have launched this. Can you hear the creaking sigh from the cash register? And how simple mobile apps can take over complex payment software systems at checkpoint?
