Would i like it if Yahoo buys Tumblr ?
No.
Though the rumors are rife.
Mostly because I never get to see the acquisitions Yahoo makes after they have been bought.
And I still find Yahoo as a web destination, quite boring.

Probably the most effective social TV tool.
So now let’s everyone add a hashtag to our TV ads, soap opera’s, serials, movies, cooking shows, news, run it on primetime, and ask TV viewers to use that tag and join an online conversation.
Let’s define it in business parlance as this is how we are drawing your television audience to social media and increasing “engagement”.
Let’s call that innovation.
In the world is to try your hand at social media marketing.
You can be an expert in less than a year.
In no other skill set / job can you gain expertise level in that short a time-frame.
Give it a shot.
” From Social to Digital Engagement - The Shift is Coming”.
Quite an interesting post with pictures, and images and concepts like Influence loops
But it raised in my mind some questions?:
Wasn’t social engagement always just one part of overall digital engagement which was just one part of overall marketing engagement?
Is just one part of your overall digital marketing strategy which is again just one part of your overall marketing strategy.
Like Really.
If you ask Facebook, you can.
The verb economy which started with the Like button and has been endlessly debated on extending into “want”, “need”, “buy” territories gets one more fillip in the form of yellow smileys.
Now to wait for marketers to start having a smiley strategy.
What’s interesting is that this was a standard feature in MySpace in its glory days, where you could choose your mood through emoticons ,while writing a status update or a blog.
Only it never made it to being breaking news.
Inspiration much?
Ouch. This is unfolding real bad.
Burger King just got hacked. And it’s unfolding on their twitter right now.
I feel for the team that’ handling social media and comms for Burger King and McDonalds today. It’s going to be a long day and an even longer night. For really no fault of their own.
And if that wasn’t enough. The series of tweets that are now emanating are even more troublesome.

The entire profile creative is changed. This is absolutely and ethically wrong

This one was pretty bad. Downright defamatory. Sad stuff.

Even Anonymous is tweeting about it and if that was not bad enough. McDonalds in retweeting it.

A series of other screen shots showing the twiterrati joining the conversation
No wonder this will be today’s big story and big trend. Followed by innumerable articles on internet security and privacy which will flood the web.
Bad day for twitter as well. With their recent hack of about 250,000 accounts this won’t be good PR for anyone.
The social teams, need to enter the account if they can and start changing their credentials. Like NOW. And if they can’t enter, then it’s going to be a bit more challenging.
Because then they need to counter hack the program to neutralise the hacker who is controlling the feed right now and then regain control.
Update: Hacker group Anonymous has claimed responsibility for it.

Only for yourself. Because you enjoy it. Any other higher cause than that will make it really hard to stay true to the cause.
Yes. No one asked for it. And if that wasn’t enough. No one’s reading it as well.
The best bloggers, keep it simple. They are regular, focus on one central point, concentrate on their own opinion, reinforce their content through facts wherever required and keep it simple and direct.
Eg: This sample write-up below. Only from a conceptual point of view
The cow is a bovine. It has a tail. It gives milk ( facts). To me they are also the livestock linchpin of an agrarian society. ( opinion) ( central focus- the cow)
